2 trucks, a horse, a moose and an ambulance

Things really start hopping around here over the 4th of July weekend as we live on a humungous (sp?)lake and everyone in their brother comes here to camp at a small campground/marina that is WAY out of town. They even have this little hick parade every year and it's funnier than hell. (I didn't go this year so I have no pics, sorry!) Anyway, so a guy and his 2 year old were coming back from the marina around 1-2am and he hits something in the road. BAM! It's a freaking HORSE!!! In the middle of the road. It'd gotten loose and he hits it. Didn't help that it was black I suppose. The horse hit the windshield of his car and blew out both the front and back windows. The baby was fine (covered in glass and blood from the horse and his dad, but ok), but his dad ended up breaking his arm pretty bad. So another car comes down the road and sees them and was in "holy shit!!!" mode. I've heard conflicting stories but I think the couple brought him and his son to the hospital. In the meantime, while clean-up crews/police are on their way to the accident scene another truck comes down the road and BAM! hits the horse that is scattered (literally) in the middle of the road. That truck flips over and either skidded down the road or just landed on it's roof. (Like I said, conflicting stories.) Luckily they were ok. As if THAT wasn't bizarre enough, the guy who'd originally hit the horse has to be transported from our local hospital to another bigger hospital about an hour away. So he and his gf are in the ambulance on their way to the hospital and BAM! The ambulance hits a FREAKING MOOSE!!!!!!!!! Now I don't know how many of you have ever seen a real, live moose in your lifetime, I've lived up here for just about all my life and I've only seen one and they are HUGE!!! Apparently 2 moose were walking across the road and of course the ambulance is flying, it's pitch black out so by the time the driver sees them, they were trying to go in between them. (Uh ya.) So anyway, they clip one of them which takes out a headlight and dents the front of the ambulance. What are the odds?! A horse and a moose in the same day!? Good thing it wasn't raining or I'd have taken bets that a bolt of lightening would have hit him. On the other hand, he has a GREAT story to tell everyone for the rest of his life!!! He is one lucky guy!!!

Being in small town everyone knows all the people involved so they're the talk of the town right now. How funny huh? I guess there was a bunch of "leftovers" from the horse on the road that no one cleaned up. I sure am glad I didn't have the pleasure of seeing that!!! I'm suprised that I haven't seen anything about it on CNN yet. Hell, even the Nimrods made CNN.
