Just Another Bend In Journey of Life

Here we go again...I woke up this morning thinking about a friend of my family who owns a local bar. He'd had a heart attack a few months ago. I'm sure that all of the years in the bar industry drinking and smoking didn't help matters. Why I was thinking about him is beyond me but I was. A short time after arriving at work today I found out that he had yet another heart attack this morning. This one sounds far worse than the last. He'd been having chest pain all week long and even went to the Dr Monday and Tuesday. He ordered blood work and an EKG and of course Curt didn't have it done for one reason or another. A mutual friend that saw him on Tuesday said that he'd popped 7 nitro to try to get the pain to subside. Since the first one, (they actually think he had at least 2 smaller ones before that one) he has stopped smoking and substantially slowed down on the drinking. I'm guessing the damage has already been done, especially if he was having mini heart attacks all week. He called someone to come get him around 1am but they were taking too long so he drove himself in. Last I heard they were waiting to stablize him until they moved him to a bigger hospital about an hour away.
So, as of right now it looks like my birthday curse is still hanging over me. After G told me this morning what happened I told her to look at the date. Every year for 10 years between July 16-24. Freaking amazing! I'm hoping that he pulls through this and this will be IT. Nothing else will happen. Now you see why I dread my birthday?! I'll update later.
